The Academy of Finland – Afghanistan (AFA) is a scientific, cultural, non-political and non-religious organization, that was established on 06.03.2015 in the city of Helsinki during a grand ceremony with the presence of Finnish and Afghan officials, as well as representatives of governmental and non-governmental institutions, and other scientific and cultural figures. The headquarters of the Academy (AFA) is in Helsinki; however, it is area of activity is unlimited.
The Academy intends to be actively involved in arts, sports, and healthcare issues in addition to academic research. AFA also works in developing relations between Finland and Afghanistan in the aforementioned fields as well as assisting Afghans of Finland with their integration journey. According to its humanitarian commitment, the Academy takes strong steps to support human rights.
AFA accepts members and also welcomes the cooperation of scholars, researchers and cultural workers of all types of background and is looking forward to growing its multicultural team of volunteers.
